iPadOS is finally here, which means it’s finally time to see if Apple has turned the iPad into a real computer — maybe. In this episode of Processor, Dieter Bohn looks at the top things you should do to get the most out of iPadOS.

What feature are you looking forward to in iPadOS?
Pasin Sukumalchan
Why do people always compare an iPad to a Computer? Apple design an iPad to be an iPad if you want a computer. If you want a computer just go buy a Macbook or an iMac. If Apple want the iPad to replace the computer then they would already put MacOS on the iPad.

iPad is a whole different platform now, as opposed to it was a decade ago when the original iPad was announced. It has its own nuances and gestures and learning curve and is altogether different from an iPhone or a Mac

Wait why isn't he using ipad pro

The Verge. Apple @$$-kissing is what they do best (although CNET is their biggest competition). 😉

Damn, that Video had something to it. It felt kind of close. As if you really were talking to us. Authenticity at it's best I guess?

I’ve been away with work overseas and I’ve only used my computer to collaborate with colleagues, draft documents – connect back to work and get everything I need done. So, right – I’m no video editor or music computer, but the casts majority of us – we’re already good to go…

Amazing amazing video!

Sounds like a fancy way of saying you can't set it up how you want it.

Lil floating keyboard is old tech, has been on chromebooks for a while

iPadOS also wrecked mobile device management suites by now identifying iPads as desktops rather as mobile devices. Still no solution from Microsoft or other vendors that i heard about.

How about showing your viewers how to do the things you were doing in the video instead of saying it’s complicated while doing those things and just moving things around?

Why are you playing games on your iPad lol

Typing on iPad with iPadOS using gestures. 💯

Seems like people do not get it!! The only relevant question to ask to know if it can be a CoMPuter is to check out, does it have a Terminal that YOU can Control and run commands from to control A computer, to “compute”!?
-That is all one need to ask!
A raspberry Pi is A computer, an iPad is NOT a computer! LoL… people… lots of babble not much logic to be said the least !
It takes one second to clarify that it is NOT a machine that you can compute on!

You rock Dieter
Spencer Soares
i love your reviews lmao

I think you did a good job explaining what Apple was thinking making this so steep. But you know, I also kinda feel proud Apple trusts me this much. I have all the tutorials I need right here on YouTube.

Why is this not done with the best iPad, the iPad Pro?

What is the bulid game name?

It is beautiful but impractical? The ipad could easily be a Microsoft surface they just want you to buy both. It is nothing like a computer.

He’s carrying this channel like Brian Tong carried CNET ❤️

For God sake!! Does no one talks about the fragile performance of the Files app, in the new iPadOS, not working properly when trying to “share” a file with other app, only allowing drag-and-drop, or instead sometimes doing the exact opposite, not allowing drag-and-drop and only the “share” option works? Someone?

Love Dieters overall demeanor and tone but I hate it that he usually gives a pass to bad tech compared to the competition. Seems he is just an easy going person in general.

I know this video is about iPad OS, but I was wondering what watchband Dieter is wearing?

“iPadOS” — let’s be real, it’s iOS 13 with a new name. iOS is short for “iPhone OS” anyway, and they shortened it BECAUSE of the iPad. It’s supposed to cover everything.
I have iOS 13.1 on my iPad. Notice I said iOS and not iPadOS… either way, doesn’t matter, THEY’RE THE SAME THING
Peter
Big issues with IpadOS, on ipad not able to browse large playlists! itunes Music stops, screen freezes….has this been tested?

You don't know why iOS users laugh at a floating keyboard? It's because they're iOS users. That feature was lifted straight from Android.
Marvin Dujardin
Apple sherlocked again by "incorporating" duet display 😉

Popover windows in flexible sizes… exist on my Samsung S7…. it might be an evolution for iPad, but then again everything is an amelioration…

Does anybody get a feeling like this review was just meh?
In all honesty they went over some of the features of the new OS, a little bit of this that, little of that, this is apple blah blah and well that's all folks. Have noticed this lately that Apple products are reviewed in a very casual way. They just over the same talking points again and again and brush aside anything that Apple has done good.
Basically if Apple has done something good and bettered from last year, it's swept aside casually, as "Ohh this Apple this is what they do etc etc.. If Apple does something wrong then we have to label it as some sort of a "gate" make 100 videos about it, provide gossip around the "gate'.
With Android to me it seems like these "reviewers" push it as innovation and bench mark and so on and so forth.
It's getting a little too boring to watch these reviews and hands-on. I actually started watching the key notes in order to get the list of features and improvements.

I love the "home-y" feel that Dieter brings when he is creating on his own!

Can someone tell me what is the use of an iPad??
VanMan 23
Most people would think iPadOS is at a similar level of versatility as ChromeOS. Although, I can argue that iPadOS has more capabilities due to it's larger library of optimized apps make using an iPad as a computer for professionals possible, unlike ChromeOS which derives nearly all of it's capabilities from Google Chrome. I know ChromeOS can run play store apps but most are not optimized for a large display.

Dieter is literally carrying the channel
